A plump, round owl sits on a snowy branch with a knitted scarf wrapped around its neck and ornaments hanging nearby. The scarf adds the main pop of color, so it is a natural place to begin.
Draw small V shapes in a darker shade across the scarf to suggest knit stitches. On the owl, layer brown in short strokes that follow the feathers.
